Choice Fitness (Lowell Mass) Sholarship

​The Marky G Foundation, in loving memory of Mark Allen Gillis, has entered into a contract with Choice Fitness to provide gym memberships to members of the recovery community in Lowell and surrounding areas.  

How to Apply 

The Marky G Pledge and the Common Application are available in the AHS Guidance Office. Completed Common Applications must be submitted to the AHS guidance office by June 1st.  The AHS Scholarship Committee shall review applications, consider each applicant’s character, select candidates who meet the criteria and submit the most qualified nominees to the Marky G Foundation.  The scholarship recipient shall be selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Scholarship Amount
$2,500
For students, the scholarship will be paid directly to their educational institution. For uniformed services inductees, the scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient at the time of their first promotion.

Criteria

The applicant must be a Arlington Massachusetts High School (AHS) student, continuing to higher education, undertaking formal vocational training or entering the uniformed services and be willing to Take the Marky G Pledge.

Memorial Pledge:
“I promise to help others who are in their darkest hour.  I will take personal risks, and go to extraordinary lengths to return that person to a place of safety and stability.  If I am lucky enough to carry out this mission and find it rewarding, I further pledge that I will repeat such selfless acts of kindness so long as l am able.”
